The Ba-23-50 plate to plate heat exchanger, with 50 stainless steel plates by Nordic Tec - is a versatile solution for small & medium-sized heating systems. With its decent thermal transfer capacity - it delivers a great performance, having steel a compact sizing. It is suitable for heating homes (detached single family houses), apartments, business offices - and various other CH system up to even 300-400 m². The plate exchanger Ba-23-50 can be used as well for DHW applications.

Thanks to its innovative plate design & shape, the Plate to Plate Heat Exchanger Ba-23-50 achieves the excellent level of heat transfer with quite a low pressure drop. This - leads us to more efficient heating performance and lower operating costs (in longer perspecitve it affects the fuel or energy consumption by our main heating device - boiler, heat pump, there can be different and numerous heating solutions). Thanks to a rugged construction the 50 plate heat exchanger ensures long-lasting reliability, while its compact size makes it easy to install and integrate with heating systems.

The Ba-23-50 heat exchanger with 50 plates - if bought with a special wall mounting system, offers very easy maintenance and installation - with very simple cleaning procedures if there is such a need. As a PHE it is compatible with a range of fluids, including glycol.

With what heating devices can this plate heat exchanger work?

Ba-23-50 PHE (Plate to Plate Heat Exchanger) by Nordic Tec can work with various heating devices such as:

  • wood-burning stoves or boilers, up to 35-45 kW
  • fireplaces with water jackets - up to 38 kW
  • Heat exchanger for central heating boilers, working with different fuels (biomass, eco-pea, pellet, coal) up to 40-45kW
  • heat pumps up to 7-8 kW, working with glycol - in so called "high-temperature" system (cca 50 °C)
  • plate heat exchanger for connection of a gas boilers to the open system building etc

The Plate to Plate Heat Exchangers work as well excellent way in homebrew, as a plate wort chillers.

Construction of a Brazed Plate Heat Exchanger with 50 plates - Ba-23-50

This BPHE (so called Brazed Plate Heat Exchanger) consists of 50 plates - which are brazed or welded in a vacuum furnace with Cu (copper weldings). The plates are corrugated, thanks to this their surface is larger - so the heat transfer can be more efficient. Every single plate of this product has 0.023m² of heat exchange area - called heat transfer area as well. If we multiply this single plate area with 50 (the plate quantity) we will receive the total plate area of this BPHE.
