The Ba-23-70 model is a classic 70-plate liquid-to-liquid heat exchanger designed for heating or cooling applications. It is not a gas heat exchanger and should not be used with gas media, especially high-pressure gases or refrigerants prone to pressure instability, such as R32, R134A, R290, and similar refrigerants. For such applications, specialized refrigerant heat exchangers designed specifically for these media with appropriately designed connections should be used.

The 70-plate heat exchanger is the biggest unit, when it comes to the PHE serie Ba-23, which has a single corrugated plate of 0.023 m².
The unit has quite an untypical solution which connects quite a big plate area (1.61 square meters) with potentially small threads 3/4". This makes this plate heat exchanger excellent for the very challenging heating systems which base on the low temperature, but don't require any big flowrates. This 70-plate exchanger can work excellent with some heat pumps heating houses or buildings fully equipped with underfloor heating system. Traditional heating furnaces, burning wood, coal, eco-pea coal, pellets or gas - are not the last opporutnities of the device. The heat exchanger with 70 plates can handle as well the systems supplied with heat by Heat Pump, if the device sizing is correct.
Another frequent application for which we totally recommend the plate exchanger Ba-23-70 is cooling - like for exemple working as an oil cooler in idustrial machines or a chiller in food industry. Especially good results can be expected in homebrewing if we use Ba-23-70 as wort chiller.
