Pump Stations 130 - How Do They Work? A Short Description | Nordic Tec

We use pump stations (also called: pump groups) in installations that are to be divided into several heating circuits, where each requires constant temperature regulation and potentially a different temperature (e.g., central heating (CH) and domestic hot water (DHW) circuits, or radiator and underfloor heating circuits). In such cases, pumping groups enable, for example, the cooperation of low-temperature underfloor heating loops and radiators, which require higher temperatures. Therefore, it's often hard to imagine a modern CH system without a pumping group.

Thanks to pump stations, we can also connect two different heat sources - for example, a condensing boiler and a traditional eco-pea coal boiler, which, thanks to the group, gains protection against so-called cold return. An additional advantage of groups is space savings in the boiler room and excellent insulation. Installing a ready-made group also saves time compared to attempting to create a similar solution yourself using valves.
