Pool Titanium Heat Exchanger NORDIC B55-Ti 16KW (55kBTU/H)

Titanium Heat Exchanger B55-Ti for swimming pool - Nordic Tec TI

Nominal Capacity: 16kW
based on 60 °C difference between heating and heated medium (water to water),
with counter-courent work

  • Material: 100% Titanium
  • Heat Exchange surface: 0.15 m²
  • Connections: 2x 1" & 2x 3/4"

The B55-Ti 16 kW titanium heat exchanger for pools - This device is recommended for use with aggressive media, where steel, including stainless steel, does not meet the long-term strength requirements. Such applications include working with saltwater, brackish water, or seawater. The device is entirely made of titanium (100%, without additives).

Nordic Tec B55-Ti heat exchanger for saltwater or seawater

Titanium pool heat exchanger with a power of 16 kW for saltwater or seawater

Technical Details:

  • Nominal value 16kW (power/capacity) is based on 60 °C difference
between heating water and pool water (calculations are different for other media).
If there is other temperature difference, the capacity is following:
    60 °C = 100%
    50 °C = 85%
    40 °C = 70%
    30 °C = 55%
The nominal flowrates values are also required to achieve the declared capacity.

  • Nominal flowrates: 28/185 l/min (one of opportunities)
  • Maximal temperature - up to 208°C (406 °F)
  • Flow rates:

    Heating medium - 28 l/min
    Heated medium - 185 l/min

  • Application

    - Heating pools, spas, and warm water tanks - primarily with brine, saltwater, or seawater.
    - Industrial application as oil coolers, engine coolers, drive systems, sample coolers in boiler installations.

Connecting tubular titanium heat exchangers to the system

Connection of a titanium heat exchanger 16 kW

K1 - heating water - IN
K2 - heated water - OUT
K3 - heated water - IN
K4 - heating water - OUT

Titanium heat exchangers - tubular ones B55-Ti  - are connected in countercurrent to achieve maximum efficiency of the heat exchanger.

The countercurrent principle in connecting heat exchangers, as shown in the above diagram, means that the heating fluid ( ->or other supply medium) must flow in the opposite direction to the heated water, in this case, pool water. For shell-and-tube heat exchangers - regardless of the material, whether titanium or steel, available in our offer, there is the possibility of freely changing the direction of fluid flow. However it is important to consider that if the countercurrent principle is not observed, the heat exchange will be significantly weaker, which will result in our expectations regarding the product's performance not being met.

The countercurrent principle is applied both in the case of shell-and-tube heat exchangers and plate heat exchangers from the NORDIC TEC brand.

As an accessory that may be useful when connecting titanium heat exchangers to systems, we also recommend shut-off valves for heat exchangers, which allow the heat exchanger to be disconnected from the system at any time - if there is a need for servicing or cleaning.
