Flanged plate heat exchanger Fa-210-80 – DN65 flanges
Brazed plate heat exchanger with flanges instead of threads. It connects directly to flanged fittings and pipework – in large boiler rooms, district heating substations and industrial plants.
EN 1092-1 type 01 PN10/PN16 Stainless steel 316 Support legs includedcompliant with the Pressure Equipment Directive (PED)
Why a heat exchanger with flange connections?
DN65 flanges
Full bore without reduction
The four 2.5" flanges fit standard flanged fittings. You need no reducers or threaded adapters, which increase pressure drop and the risk of leaks.
2 + 2
Connections on both sides
Two flanges on the front plate (F2, F4) and two on the rear plate (Q1, Q3). Each circuit is connected from a different side – giving a clear pipe layout in the boiler room.
16.80 m²
Large heat transfer area
80 corrugated plates of 0.210 m² each create turbulent flow. The result is efficient heat transfer with a comparatively low pressure drop. The 80-plate model has a 25% larger heat transfer area than the smaller Fa-210-64 version – with the same DN65 connections.

Applications of the Fa-210-80
✓ District heating substations and system separation of heating circuits in large buildings
✓ Boiler rooms in residential, commercial and industrial buildings
✓ Domestic hot water heating with high hot water demand
✓ Water–water media or water with added glycol
Installation step by step
1 Plan a location with access from both sides. The connections are at the front and rear, so the heat exchanger cannot stand directly against a wall like a threaded Ba series model.
2 Place the heat exchanger on the support legs on a level floor or a foundation.
3 Connect the circuits in counter-current – using DN65 counter flanges according to EN 1092-1, with gaskets and bolts for PN16.
4 Install a strainer and shut-off valves, so that the heat exchanger can be easily cleaned of limescale and deposits.
The complete Fa-210 series

Before ordering – important limitations
• For liquid-liquid circuits only: the heat exchanger is not intended for gases, F-gases or refrigerants.
• No media that attack stainless steel or copper, e.g. untreated water, well, rain, river or sea water, salt water, demineralised water and water with pool chemicals.
• The Fa-210 is not intended for use in swimming pool systems.
• With slow-responding heat sources (e.g. a fireplace with a water jacket), an undersized heat exchanger may lead to overheating of the system. If in doubt, ask us for a selection.
Frequently asked questions
How does the Fa-210 differ from the Ba series heat exchangers?
The operating principle is identical. The Fa-210 has flanges instead of threads and connections on both sides – and it is the largest Nordic Tec series.
Which flanges fit the Fa-210-80?
DN65 counter flanges according to EN 1092-1 with nominal pressure PN10 or PN16 – plate flanges (type 01) or weld neck flanges (type 11). Both have the same connection dimensions.
What does the designation Fa-210-80 mean?
“Fa” stands for a stainless steel plate heat exchanger with flange connections, “210” for 0.210 m² of heat transfer area per plate and “80” for the number of plates.
