The 34-plate heat exchanger designed for high-pressure applications is intended for systems where one of the media is a gaseous refrigerant ( which can be nearly any gas, including Freon or similar gases ), while the heat transfer is primarily carried out by a more traditional liquid, commonly used in heating or cooling installations, such as water / water-glycol mixture. It's not a traditional plate heat exchanger for connecting to heat pumps in a water/glycol system but rather a gas heat exchanger designed for specific and focused applications involving refrigerants. The term "Freon heat exchanger" is used colloquially due to the most commonly used refrigerant, while it's actually designed for media with similar properties in such applications.

Freon Plate Heat Exchanger for Heat Pump (Designed for Evaporator/Condenser Operation).

The Ba-26-34-F Freon heat exchanger is suitable for use as a condenser in heat pumps, air conditioners, and similar units. Thanks to the adaptation of one of the channels in terms of connections and pressure resistance, it can work with refrigerants like R404A, R32, and similar ones.

As seen in the graphical comparison above, the 34-plate Ba-26-34-F Freon heat exchanger is the second smallest model among the Ba-26-F series, which is primarily designed for heat exchange between gas-liquid media and is classified as high-pressure ( the gas side can operate with media up to 45 bar ). It is still one of the smaller gas heat exchangers in our product range.

The Ba-26-34-F has a plate surface area of 0.884 m², which translates to satisfactory to very good compatibility with heat pumps and similar units, typically ranging from 6-9 kW in capacity depending on the input temperatures.

If a heat exchange surface area of approximately 0.884 m² is too small for the heat pump or air conditioner you intend to use it with, it's worth considering larger models from the same series, as shown in the graph - Ba-26-50 with 1.3m² and Ba-26-60 with 1.56m². Alternatively, you may want to explore the second series of Nordic Tec Freon heat exchangers, equipped with larger gas connections (7/8"), namely the Ba-68-F series, where the heat exchange surface areas can reach up to 4m².
