How do UV water lamps work? | UV water filter 16W
UV water lamps in UV water filters by Nordic Tec disinfect water from biological contaminants (bacteria, viruses, fungi) found in water sources, wells, or surface water sources. Ultraviolet light emitted by the UV-C bulb (in this case by PHILIPS brand) effectively and safely neutralizes contaminants and is an alternative to chemical disinfection. Removing biological contaminants also improves the smell and taste of the water.
Depending on your needs, you should choose the appropriately sized lamp. Some of our larger UV water filters are equipped with multiple bulbs. The UVC bulbs used by Nordic Tec are produced in Europe by Philips, with a lifespan of 8-10,000 hours (approximately one year of continuous operation). UV bulbs are suitable for continuous operation and react poorly to frequent switching on and off. The UV water filter 16W should operate 24/7, with turning off only recommended if the house is unoccupied for more than 1-2 days.

Why are Nordic Tec UV water sterilizers a better choice for drinking water sterilization?
First and foremost, Nordic Tec UV water sterilizers should not be made of plastic or synthetic materials for hygiene reasons. These materials promote bacterial microflora and are less durable. This is particularly important when treating drinking water.
